Linda – pregnant female sculpture
Galerie S:t Petri, Lund, presents today, 22 May, from 15:00 to 20:00, a living female sculpture, “Linda,” from England.
This conceptual work is 23 years old and eight months pregnant.
Jean Sellem, the gallery’s director, says:
“The reason why ‘Linda’ is exhibited at Galerie S:t Petri is that, despite her pregnancy, she has been refused support from the social authorities in Lund while in a state of emergency.
I consider it important that, through this sculpture at Galerie S:t Petri, we draw attention to the shortcomings of the regulations governing the city’s authorities, which often result in inhumane behavior.
We must be less social and more humane!
The conduct of the Social Welfare Office in this case cannot in any way be excused.
I hope that this action results in ‘Linda’ receiving immediate help from the authorities.
At present, she owns five öre and two eggs.”
