ST. PETRIHELP CENTER FOR POLAND25 - 30.12.1981
We Poles thank the Swedish people for the helpfulness they have shown towards Poland in various collections, especially in schools and churches around Sweden. But now the schools are closed and the need for assistance is greater than ever in the difficult situation the country is in. Therefore, we want to try to keep the relief work going during the Christmas holidays, so that the help for the many needy Polish children will not fail to reach them despite the general Christmas celebrations in Sweden. We make use of the aid organisation that already exists in the Lund area – Solidarity with the Children of Poland – which has direct contact with the Association of Friends of Children (TPD) in Warsaw.
Our activity in the gallery, which in the name of humanity has been made available to us by Jean Sellem during the Christmas holiday, is aimed at those who during this festive time want to feel the joy of sharing some of their prosperity and come in to us one of these Christmas days to talk a little, drink coffee, and feel free to ask questions about Poland which many are discussing today.
We show photos from Poland, children’s drawings made by Polish children, and other items connected with Poland that we have collected. During the Christmas holidays there will always be at least two of us at the gallery, so that we can receive your gifts and ensure the aid is properly delivered.
For the children we plan to arrange some small pleasant activities with games, painting, singing, storytelling, juice and gingerbread.
Welcome to Galleri S:t Petri and bring children’s clothes, blankets, or money for our collection boxes.
We are open during the days 25/12 – 30/12 from 12.00 to 20.00.
