ANNE BEHRNDT MOVE19.03 - 31.03.1976
ANNE BEHRNDT from Denmark — image creator, writer, and M.A. in French — exhibits at Galerie S:t Petri, Lund, from 19–31 March 1976.
This is her first solo exhibition in Sweden.
This literary image-maker or allegorical author has written five books, the most recent of which — the poetry collection “Son Tristan” (1975) — was presented at Galerie S:t Petri last autumn.
She has also produced several literary radio programs in Denmark, including an interview with the French author Nathalie Sarraute, which will be included in an anthology to be published by Informations Förlag.
About her works, Anne Behrndt says:
“My works exist on the border where writing becomes image and the image is written — where photographs and things are included, and where objects describe an image.
My text collages show a mass of text that can be read in its individual parts, while at the same time an image opens up — through the entry of spatial elements and the distribution of sheets and placement in the room.
I create a spatial content and bring together outer things that themselves compress form — for example on a screen, in a poem, or in an exhibition space.
It is a place where painting and writing mix; one can write the painting and paint the writing.”
Anne Behrndt has previously exhibited in Canada, Germany, Austria, and Denmark.
Last month she participated in an International Video Festival organized by Århus Kunstmuseum.
She will soon publish a book with Galerie S:t Petri’s publishing house, Edition Sellem.
The exhibition in Lund is open weekdays 3 p.m.–8 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays 12 p.m.–5 p.m.
