THE VISUALIZED ROCK
From January 5 to 15, Galerie S:t Petri presents a multi-media exhibition entitled The Visualized Rock. It is a creation by the Lund rock group Bostonvärk, which during the past year has gained attention for its cross-border combinations of poetry, image, and music. During the concert at Galerie S:t Petri on January 9, Bostonvärk will also use video to visualize the music.
The central figure of the exhibition is Sisyphus from the Greek myth. According to Bostonvärk, Sisyphus, who was condemned to eternally roll a stone up a hill, symbolizes the struggling artist. His movements are endlessly cyclical and are contrasted, for example, with the motorway, which is linear.
Bostonvärk consists of Hasse Blomqvist, guitar; Björn Gyllix, bass; Ola Nilsson, drums; and Örjan Gerhardsson, vocals. Their LP “Bostonvärk” was released about a year and a half ago, and since then the group has toured throughout Sweden. Their next project will be a collaboration with the Claude Marchant Dance Theatre in Gothenburg to perform “The Doomed” by Stig Dagerman.
The exhibition is open on weekdays from 15:00 to 20:00 and on Sundays from 13:00 to 18:00. Concert on Saturday, January 9 at 18:00.
