“Catastrophe Art from the East” (Catastrophe Art from the East) is the title of an exhibition being shown at Galerie S:t Petri in Lund, from February 8 to 13.
Eleven Japanese artists here attempt to give an image of how human beings strive to reach themselves — their innermost self.
The artists deal with problems concerning personality and its development.
One of the exhibitors urges in his works:
“Seek constantly within yourself, the freedom to be yourself, to find your true self.”
The exhibition consists of English and Japanese texts, photographs, and collages.
This is the first time these works are presented in Sweden.
The exhibition is open on weekdays 15:00–20:00,
and on Saturdays and Sundays 12:00–17:00.
