Poets! This autumn Galerie S:t Petri is starting a new activity and offers you the opportunity to make your poems public in the gallery’s windows.
Interested parties are asked to submit previously unpublished and clearly written manuscripts in A4 format to:
POEM FOR YOU Galerie S:t Petri P.O. Box 7 221 01 Lund 1 Use a pseudonym. Your name and address should be placed inside a sealed envelope, with the pseudonym written on the outside, and enclosed with the poems.
A group of poetry enthusiasts will then select works for “Poem for You.” The selected poems will be displayed in the gallery’s windows together with the author’s name.
Since such a selection can never be entirely fair, all submitted material (maximum three poems per author) will gradually form the basis for one or more shorter exhibitions at Galerie S:t Petri.
We also hope to later publish parts of the submitted material in an anthology. Authors should, however, be aware that they cannot expect to receive payment for their contributions.
Submitted material will not be returned.
With kind regards, Galerie S:t Petri – Jean Sellem

Review article on the poetry anthology “Änglarna gråter”, published by Edition Sellem (Gallery S:t Petri, Lund). — Sincere but scarcely adventurous poetryGallery S:t Petri in Lund carries out commendable promotional work for poetry. In the autumn of 1973 and the spring of 1974, the idea-driven and enterprising gallery organized the exhibition “Poem for You”. Among the poems that streamed in to this kind of beginners’ fair for lyric poetry, a smaller number has now been selected and presented in a tastefully designed collection.“The Angels Weep” is the title of nine-year-old Charlotta Lindell’s contribution, and it also gives its name to the entire book. Besides Charlotta, thirteen other debuting poets from the Scania region participate. All write poetry that is easy to grasp, restrained, sincere, but scarcely adventurous. Their imagery is no bolder than that of most of their colleagues; like a majority of twentieth-century poets, they express their thoughts and feelings in unrhymed free verse. These lyrical beginners are, surprisingly, disengaged from social issues. Almost all occupy themselves with strictly personal problems, speaking of loneliness and isolation and of a longing for human contact. You will not regret ordering “The Angels Weep” from Gallery S:t Petri in Lund. The beautiful book costs only five kronor and offers a chance to become acquainted with promising debutants who, in a few years’ time, may develop into truly significant poets.(Read by librarian Göran Källquist, Malmö.) — — — Category: docs — Gallery S:t Petri, Lund.
