Poets! This autumn Galerie S:t Petri is starting a new activity and offers you the opportunity to make your poems public in the gallery’s windows.
Interested parties are asked to submit previously unpublished and clearly written manuscripts in A4 format to:
POEM FOR YOU Galerie S:t Petri P.O. Box 7 221 01 Lund 1 Use a pseudonym. Your name and address should be placed inside a sealed envelope, with the pseudonym written on the outside, and enclosed with the poems.
A group of poetry enthusiasts will then select works for “Poem for You.” The selected poems will be displayed in the gallery’s windows together with the author’s name.
Since such a selection can never be entirely fair, all submitted material (maximum three poems per author) will gradually form the basis for one or more shorter exhibitions at Galerie S:t Petri.
We also hope to later publish parts of the submitted material in an anthology. Authors should, however, be aware that they cannot expect to receive payment for their contributions.
Submitted material will not be returned.

In the autumn of 1973 and spring of 1974, this enterprising and imaginative gallery organised the exhibition Dikt för Dig [Poem for You]. From among the poems submitted to this poetry event, a smaller selection has now been chosen and presented in a tastefully designed anthology.Änglarna gråter [The Angels Weep] is the title of the contribution by nine-year-old Charlotta Lindell, and it is also the title of the book as a whole. In addition to Charlotta, thirteen other debuting poets from Scania are represented. All of them write poetry that is easy to understand, understated, honest but hardly adventurous. Their imagery is no more daring than that of most of their fellow poets. Like the majority of twentieth-century poets, they express their thoughts and feelings in unrhymed free verse.These poetic beginners are surprisingly detached from social issues. Almost all of them concern themselves with strictly personal problems. They speak openly about loneliness and isolation, and about their longing for human contact.You will not regret ordering Änglarna gråter from Galerie S:t Petri, Fack 7, 221 01 Lund 1.
