COLLECTION OF DOCUMENTS
CONCERNING
THE DANISH MYTH
ERIC ANDERSEN
is exhibited at Galerie S:t Petri, Lund,
from 11 to 23 April 1975.
Eric Andersen was born in Copenhagen about 30–40 years ago.
He was the first Scandinavian artist who consistently worked with non-objects, audience participation, chance-based performance, and communication that was not dependent on media or accepted technology.
Since 1961, he has taken part in more than 200 performances all over the world and published around 100 publications.
He has also participated in almost all major non-commercial art manifestations during the past 14 years.
Between 1961–62, Eric Andersen was a member of the groups FLUXUS and ART TOTAL;
in 1963–64, he developed in Germany, Holland, France, and the USA the principles addressing unrestricted operational communication as experimental activity.
Between 1964–66, he often worked in the Soviet Union, Poland, and Czechoslovakia.
Among many different phenomena, Eric Andersen has, over time, drastically altered the following:
TV, radio, posters, newspapers, computers, actors, factories, symphony orchestras, printed materials, telephones, films, musicians, mail, trams, art, telex, musicians, trains, galleries, New York, theatres, academies, schools, libraries, museums, seminars, video, airplanes, and press releases.
The exhibition is open on weekdays 15:00–20:00,
and on Saturdays and Sundays 12:00–17:00.
