YUMIKO KODAMATEA CEREMONY (STRAIGHT LINE)14.12 - 17.12.1978
YUMIKO KODAMA from Japan is currently visiting Europe.
This is the first time she is showing her work outside Japan.
Her exhibition Straight Line at Galerie S:t Petri in Lund takes place between 14 and 17 December 1978.
Yumiko Kodama’s works are at once avant-garde and traditional — traditional through classical technical methods and materials, avant-garde in their visual and conceptual expression.
Her works have often emerged through Yoga and Zen. She does not really distinguish between her art and herself as a person, but regards them as a unity.
Straight Line is for her the total expression of herself.
Through both traditional and modern ceremonies, Yumiko Kodama expresses herself.
In connection with the exhibition at Galerie S:t Petri, on Thursday at 1 p.m., she will demonstrate the traditional Japanese tea ceremony and offer green tea, which has a thousand-year-old tradition.
The exhibition is open weekdays 3–8 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays 1–5 p.m.
