“On a Walk”
is the title of the exhibition shown at Galerie S:t Petri, Lund, from 18–26 March 1975.
It consists, among other things, of photographs and texts.
Since the four participants — Christian Boltanski, Paul-Armand Gette, Jean Le Gac, and Annette Messager — are also taking part in NYA MEDIA I at Malmö Konsthall, Galerie S:t Petri wished to express its sympathy with the experimental activities of the Konsthall by simultaneously allowing them to present themselves in a smaller manifestation in Lund.
It was during the summer of 1970 that Christian Boltanski, Paul-Armand Gette, and Jean Le Gac began their walks in the parks, gardens, and museums of Paris.
Annette Messager occasionally photographed them.
A dozen or so of these walks were carried out up until January 1971.
Material from some of these excursions is shown in the exhibition.
Results from other excursions are also presented.
Thus, the exhibition includes a number of photographs by Christian Boltanski showing children on various beaches.
Paul-Armand Gette’s photographs are from a visit to Fulltofta at Ringsjön.
Jean Le Gac has walked around Paris, writing down his associations related to certain memorials.
Finally, Annette Messager has gathered in a folder a collection of large, beautiful autumn leaves she found during her walks.
The exhibition is open on weekdays 15:00–20:00,
and on Saturdays and Sundays 12:00–17:00.
